~ my book club just celebrated seven years together ~
We've been meeting longer than I've been married. We read books (most of the time), have wine and share our lives together. I love this group. They allow me to be myself and they love me anyway.
Several years ago one of the girls in my book club called me in the middle of the afternoon at work and told me she, "had a professional question." I had recently completed my MBA and had just started my first postgraduate position as a supervisor in a hospital. I had about thirty employees and I was feeling pretty proud of myself at the time.
"A professional question..." I could definitely help her. "I'm in the bathroom" my friend said" and
I can't figure out how to attach my garter belt to my thigh highs."
She went on to tell me her husband was waiting for her in the bedroom.
I have never worked as a prostitute. I wouldn't have been able to make any money but I did work at Victoria's Secret for a year in college and my dear friend knew she could call me in the middle of the day (garter belts or not) at work and I would do what I could to help her. If you don't have close girl-friends, woman you can really be honest with, work on making some today. My friends make all parts of my life better. Happy anniversary book club!
