I spent years collecting vintage Christmas ornaments at estate sales and thrift stores.  My mom helped to start my collection when she gave me  ornaments from our family Christmas tree.  My vintage ornament wreath is my absolute favorite thrifty treasure.

I purchased this bakers cabinet at an antique co-op for $150. I was drawn to the color and shape of this vintage piece (love those drawer pulls!)  With all the different shelves, drawers, and compartments, I knew this cabinet held many opportunities for organization and storage.

Celebrating A Best Friend

Best Friend Quotes & Pictures

~ Happy Birthday Shantel Caprice! ~
I wrote about my best friend Shantel Caprice {totally NOT her real name but it could have been} for the first time last year on her birthday.  Since then I've written about her several times. Here I wrote about what a great mom Shantel Caprice is and I mentioned here how good she is at her job. {Who knew you could get paid for shaking your booty with ALL YOUR CLOTHES ON.}

15 Inspiring Plate Walls

Remember when I came home with everything from Debbie's yard sale? These plates were part of my bounty.  I love the color and pattern on these antique plates and I decided (in no time flat) to make another plate wall in addition to the one that is in my study.

Master Bathroom Update VI

Master Bathroom Renovation

The bathroom used to look like this.
{To see updates one-five use the search this blog at the top right of this page.}

Week Seven of our Remodel

That's SEVEN weeks into our master bathroom remodel.

I am starting to see the {very pretty} light at the end of the tunnel.

It's Grayish from Sherwin-Williams for the walls.

The bathroom tile is mostly complete...

by the end of the week...

Pretty things have started appearing...

Look how beautiful this marble is!

and there are still big. ugly. things.

 Stay tuned to see what I do with...
 this ($30) ripped up old footrest from Target

this kind of ugly interesting table from all of Debbie's Old Stuff

and this very black window in my "heavenly" bathroom.

To help with my remodel depression/anxiety I  bought my very first bathroom accessory! Hello toilet paper holder from Ross.

{Mom, I'm sorry some of the pictures are blurry.  I've been drinking a lot since the remodel began had a cocktail, which is apparently noticeable to everyone as the contractor said to me earlier, "Have you been drinking?  You are so agreeable today."}

 Hmmm... I'm supposed to ask a question here so you will leave me lots of comment love but I've got nothing...  What do you have to say about that?

Tips for new bloggers

Before you start blogging

  • Don't make people complete a word verification before they leave a comment. Seriously, it's annoying and professional bloggers don't do it.

    • Market affiliates help you develop your brand and generate interest in your blog.

  • Blog Swap with everyone you can.
    • If you don't know what a blog swap (also called blog trade) is read here.

    • Blog swaps help expose your blog to a whole different group of followers.

  • Write/Submit guest post every chance you get.

  • In the beginning, focus more on publicizing your blog than writing a ton of blog posts.
      • Participate in blog hops {Blog Hops Everyday is a great resource}.
      • Participate in linky parties. Linky parties:
        • are a way for you to show off your creations

        • make blogging friends

  • Try to include at least one picture in all of your blog post and put a picture of your finished product first so people will want to keep looking.

  • Make sure aren't a no-reply commenter.
    • If you aren't sure if you are a no reply commenter read here.
