Master Bathroom Renovation

I am very excited to show you the bathroom reveal next week! Here is a bit of the process...

Mater Bathroom Renovation

If you haven't been following mommy is coocoo long you may not know that we went through our first major renovation last summer.  I was so coocoo over the process I've just now begun to edit the pictures even though the bathroom was completed last July!

Our bathroom used to look like this...
and believe it or not we were going to do a minor renovation. Until, we discovered there was a major foundation issue beneath the bathtub and mold in a large section of the shower.  Gross!  So, in true coocoo fashion we lived with the smelly bathroom and unusable bathtub for more than six months while Mr. coocoo went to work to get us the money to pay for our now extensive master bathroom renovation.
During the time our bathroom looked like this I spent lots of time drinking looking for inspiration.  We had a budget but Mr. coocoo didn't mind if I picked out everything for the bathroom.  Weww freaking hewww!  I found lots of bathrooms that I LOVED from books and on pinterest.  See those here.  You can decide if I stuck to my inspiration or not.
I got really tired of seeing my toilet in the middle of the room but it was all worth it when...
Contractor chiseled out part of the foundation and moved the toilet over (centering it)!
I was so excited!  Apparently, the off-centered toilet bothered contractor more than it bothered me!
There were delays... My shower doors broke en route to my home!
I had to order a middle cabinet and wait for it for three weeks.
Lots of great things happened too!  New paint and no more wallpaper...
I now have marble!
To put my shampoo bottles on...
Quite an upgrade from this embarrassing situation...
This bathroom was not a DIY low-budget renovation!  But after Mr.coocoo worked extra hard for months I was able to design a bathroom that was all mine ours and I am very happy with the results. Nearly everything is the bathroom is new but I was able to reuse my vanity mirror.
See my How to Remove a Large Vanity Mirror tutorial here

I can't wait to reveal the entire room next week! In the meantime, if you are coocoo and want to see the complete process, you can look at it week by week here!

Have you done a big renovation?  What did you learn in the process?
