This is not really a story about vibrators. It is 100% true & retold with permission.
Be prepared to snort laugh...
Our dear friends Linda and Dave {not even close to their real names} came to visit us with their two young children. I grew up with Dave and our families are very close. I've known Linda for nearly ten years. She is truly one of the kindest people I've ever met. She has a servants heart and if more people were like her the world would be a much lovelier place. Linda was raised very conservatively (very is an understatement). She has an innocence about her some might say is naive but I find it to be endearing. Our families always have a nice time when we are together.
When Linda and Dave were visiting they used our hand held massager (see it here) one night when we were sitting around the family room talking after the kids had gone to bed. They loved the massager and Linda called and left me a message a few weeks after the visit and said, "I want to get one of those vibrators for our anniversary like the one we used at your house. Where did you get it?"
I called Linda back right away and got her voicemail. I left her a message saying our massager was from Wal-Mart but she needed to call me before she went there.
Linda called back hours later and left another message saying she had already been to Wal-Mart (with her two young children) and she "couldn't find the vibrator." She said she went right to the automotive section thinking the hand-held massager might be there because she had recently seen a massage and seat warmer for cars massage and seat warmer for cars. Linda asked an automotive employee where the vibrators were and he gave her a puzzled look. Linda was sure he would understand what she was looking for if she just described it better. She said, "It is a long thing you hold with your hand, and it has two balls on the end of it." The Wal-Mart Employee replied, "Ma'am, we don't sell those kinds of products here." Linda was confused and left the store without a massager that day!
