Every fall I talk about the amazing Halloween party my family attends. To commemorate the fifth year of the party I decided to make a Pallet Halloween Sign to welcome guests. Thus began my introduction to the Chevron Stripe and consequently one of my most popular blog posts of all time.
Chevron Stripe Halloween Pallet Sign
If you recall here there was a lot some cursing when I attempted to create a chevron stripe for the first time. Supposedly “simple tutorials” I found on line led me to believe there are a lot of crafty liars out there.
So I developed my own Chevron Stripe tutorial and my (then) 5 year old son and I turned the post into my most popular video to date. Check the video out here.
How to make a Chevron, Halloween, Pallet Sign
For my Halloween sign I traced this owl with crescent moon onto the pallet. I also think a Skeleton Key would be awesome and you couldn’t go wrong with these Glittered Spider Silhouettes.
After tracing your silhouette, paint your palette. I used a pumpkin color paint for my base coat. Make sure you paint around your silhouette carefully. It is really hard to get paint completely off of a pallet.
Use my EASY to understand tutorial to tape sections on the pallet.
After taping is complete, follow the tutorial to draw on the chevron outline.
When you are finished painting your pallet should look some thing like this…
Finally, add your personalized message to the pallet. You could just wing it with a black sharpie like I did or you could use this Stencil Set.
*Stay Tuned to see the fun decorations inside the house!
